Introduction
It will be wise to take audio notes by using the microphone in your audiobooks or lecture recordings. This is especially useful when you need to insert a lot of information like comments and narration. Download and install MP3 Audio Editor first.
Step 1. Input an Audio File
Launch MP3 Audio Editor. Click "Open" ()
to activate a browser window, in which you can select
an audio file from your computer (
).
Then, click "Open" (
)
to input the audio file to program.
Tips: All the files of the supported formats can be seen in the "Open" window & if you want know other formats supported, activate the "Files of type" dropdown list at the bottom.
Step 2. Select the Position You Want to Insert Recording
Click the waveform ()
or enter the precise pms in "Selection" (
)
box to locate the position you want to insert the recording.
Step 3. Select Sound Card and Sound Source
Click the Record button ()
at the bottom of the window to activate the Sound Recorder.
Choose a proper sound card (
)
and select the sound source (
)
in your system. The names of the sound source usually named
as Stereo Mix, Phone Line, Aux Volume, Video Volume,
Mic Volume, Line In, CD Audio and so on. (If you do
not choose the correct sound source, no audio signal would be
detected or recorded even if you can hear it.)
Step 4. Adjust Recording Settings
Start to play the audio file you want to record and you can
see wave variations ()
in the wave pattern. Drag slider (
)
to adjust the recording volume. Set a specific time by clicking
"Timer Record" (
)
to automatically start recording. You also have the power to
record without silence (
).
(If the volume is too low, you can see only very small variations
in the wave pattern. If the sound is being clipped off because
the volume is too high, move the volume setting down until most
of the volume range is displayed without clipping.)

Step 5. Start Recording
After everything is set, click the red round record
button ()
to start recording. To stop recording, click "Pause"

Then, click "Keep" (

to input the recording to the position you have chosen.
Step 6. Save the Changes
You can save the file by clicking the "Save"
().
Save File: to save the changes to the edited
file.
Save File As: The file that has been edited
can be saved with a different file name and/or location.
Save Selection As: to save just the highlighted
selection to a file.
